Gallery – Arrochar Boat Seat

In April 2019, we took one of the old paths to the hilltop over Tarbet looking over Arrochar.   The stone is Whin with a Viking boat built into the back – using puddlestone.  The site was spectacular, facing the Cobbler and the Arrochar Alps, so you can enjoy the view whilst doing an interesting build.   We met down the bottom and were ferried up a couple of miles or so by 4×4 – as there wasn’t any parking up top.

Why a Viking boat?  The Vikings dragged their boats across land from Arrochar to Tarbet and used them on Loch Lomond!

What a spectacular backdrop for a build – it was a real pleasure.   And it’s well worth the walk to go up and have a look.
