Location Information – Kilsyth

General Directions

From the M80 take J7 (at Haggs) and take the A803 Stirling Road towards Kilsyth, through Banknock and Kelvinhead until you enter Kilsyth – you will be entering from the East. Watch out for (and take) the right into Parkburn Road.
From Glasgow, make your way to Kirkintilloch and take the A803 Glasgow Road towards the East, through Queenzieburn. Go straight ahead at the small Balmalloch Rd roundabout (to drive past the Shell station). At Kilsyth, take the first exit (left) off the large roundabout to continue on the A803. Then take the second left (which is Parkburn Road).

Directions from Kilsyth (Parkburn Road corner on A803) to meeting place

Drive up Parkburn Road, passing the Church of God on the left, at the top of the hill, continue up on Allanfauld Road (straight through the 4 way intersection, and up the hill). The driveway for Blackmill is on the right. There is plenty of parking to the right of the garage.

Hours

Generally, the Saturday will run from 9 am until 3-4pm. The Sunday will end a little earlier, for those with longer travel plans.

Notes

To get to the build site, there is a short walk from the toilet facilities which includes walk up and up/down a rough path and crossing a wooden bridge. For those who may find this a little harder, you can park in the lower Kilsyth Golf course car park and walk through the metal farm gate and across the paddock. Follow the signs from the A803 up Tak-Ma-Doon Rd.

Local Accommodations

We have very good reports from the Allanfauld Farm Bed & Breakfast which is a few minutes walk up from the meeting place.
